Łódź Airport is becoming a new strategic operational base for Mister Air’s Boeing 757-200SF freighter, significantly strengthening the logistics potential of the entire region. With the aircraft now based at the airport, existing road feeder services (RFS) – the transportation of air cargo by truck – are taking to the skies. From now on, goods will be flown directly from Łódź to destinations around the world.
Misterair Transport SRL is an air cargo carrier acquired in 2025 by AerCommerce, a Polish broker and specialist cargo charter operator. The launch of the Łódź base marks the culmination of the process of introducing Boeing 757-200F aircraft into its fleet. The investment is worth PLN 45.5 million and is expected to create around 20 new jobs for flight and technical personnel, both at the base itself and in related services.
The modern aircraft, with a payload capacity of up to 31.5 tonnes and a range of approximately 5,800 km (equivalent to around 6.5 hours of flight), will enable exporters and manufacturers to organise deliveries efficiently across a wide range of sectors. These include e-commerce, spare parts, electronic equipment and technical systems, as well as pharmaceutical products, jewellery, and defence-related and other specialised shipments.
“We are committed to dynamic growth and providing tangible support for businesses in Central Poland. The arrival of this cargo aircraft and an experienced partner at our airport marks a breakthrough that gives local companies a significant competitive advantage. We are providing businesses across the region and the country with a tool to expand into international markets quickly and securely. We are taking a major step forward, proudly transforming road-based cargo routes into direct air connections from Łódź,” says Robert Makowski, CEO of Łódź Airport.
Of particular importance to local businesses, basing the aircraft at Łódź Airport represents a fundamental change in cargo handling. Until now, air freight transported by road to overseas hubs as part of RFS operations could only reach its onward destinations via other airports. It can now be handled as genuine air cargo, with goods taking off directly from the runway at Łódź Airport.
Following this development, Hi-Jet Aviation is also commencing operations at Łódź Airport, providing professional technical maintenance for the aircraft. As a result, Łódź Airport is becoming not only a key location for aircraft maintenance but also a preferred hub for handling cargo flights to and from Poland, further consolidating its position on Europe’s logistics map.
