29.09.2026

Nearly 175,000 passengers used Łódź Airport during the 2026 summer season. More than 90,000 chose charter flights to 11 popular holiday destinations. The strong performance of the summer offer has led to flights to Marsa Alam in Egypt being extended into the winter season, with services operating until 30 March.

The 2026 summer season is coming to an end, bringing another strong result for Łódź Airport. Since the start of the summer charter operations on 25 April, the airport has handled a total of 174,418 passengers.

Charter flights were one of the key elements of the summer schedule, with 90,209 passengers choosing this type of travel. Travel agencies offered passengers departing from Łódź a choice of 11 diverse holiday destinations.

Antalya in Turkey remained the most popular destination, attracting more than 40,000 travellers. Greek destinations, including Zakynthos, Rhodes and Heraklion, as well as Tirana in Albania, also recorded strong results. This year's new addition to the network was Mallorca, which attracted nearly 3,000 passengers looking for a holiday in Spain.

Holiday flights to Egypt, including Hurghada and Marsa Alam, were also popular. Strong demand for Marsa Alam prompted Coral Travel Poland to extend the route into the winter season.

The summer flights to Marsa Alam were originally scheduled to operate until 20 October. They will now remain in the schedule until 30 March, with flights departing from Łódź Airport every Tuesday. This means that residents of Łódź and the surrounding region will be able to enjoy a holiday under the palm trees during the Christmas and New Year period, as well as throughout the winter school holidays.

“Residents of Łódź and the surrounding region were waiting for a winter connection to Egypt. We are pleased that, together with our partner, Coral Travel Poland, we have been able to finalise all the details and extend the summer charter flights into the winter season – all the way through to spring. During the summer, flights from Łódź to Hurghada and Marsa Alam were very popular. We therefore hope that the aircraft will also operate with high passenger numbers during the winter season and that Coral Travel customers will be keen to take advantage of the connection to Egypt, where sunshine and warm sea waters can be enjoyed all year round. We can confidently say that summer at our airport will now last all year round,” says Robert Makowski, President of Łódź Airport.

Marsa Alam is a resort located approximately 300 kilometres south of Hurghada. It is known for its sandy beaches, coral reefs and excellent conditions for diving and snorkelling. During the winter months, air temperatures typically range from 20°C to 25°C, while the Red Sea can reach temperatures of up to 25°C.

The winter months are also a good time for sightseeing. Excursions to Luxor are available from Marsa Alam, including visits to the Colossi of Memnon, the temples of Karnak and Hatshepsut, and the Valley of the Kings, home to the tomb of Tutankhamun. Other activities include desert safaris, camel rides and sunset excursions.

“This year's summer season once again showed that residents of Łódź and the surrounding region are keen to travel from their local airport. They appreciate the convenient access, quick check-in process and increasingly diverse offer from travel agencies. The extension of the Marsa Alam connection confirms that the potential of Łódź Airport does not end with the summer season,” concludes the Management Board of Łódź Airport.

In addition to charter flights, regular services also recorded strong results, including flights to Milan Bergamo and sunny Alicante.

Winter flights to Marsa Alam can already be booked on the Coral Travel Poland website and through travel agencies in Łódź and across the region.

Passengers travelling to Egypt should hold a passport valid for at least six months from the planned date of return. An entry visa must also be purchased upon arrival.
